چکیده

Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) is a self-pollinating diploid (2n=2x=14) species belonging to the Fabaceae family. It one of oldest crops known, with 8,000 9,000 years history and it among earliest domesticates from Near East Fertile Crescent. The seeds have high nutritional value. This crop an interesting substitute wheat in cereal rotations but its importance low due lack suitable varieties local adaptation. Some major problems that Argentinian lentil breeders face are narrow genetic base current cultivated germplasm yield potential. A breeding program was initiated 2004 develop new adaptation prevalent conditions growing areas Argentina. Germplasm obtained ICARDA (International Center for Agricultural Research Dry Areas) producers. Conventional methods using hybridization selection being carried out improved varieties, broad base, isolate superior recombinant inbred lines. Two been obtained, macrosperm type (Boyerito FCA) other microsperm (Tacuarita through application mass F2 populations cross selected materials. complements traditional biotechnological techniques such as transgenesis, use molecular markers, vitro embryo culture combined SSD method shorten time, digital phenotyping. Direct in vitro regeneration of lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.).

This study surveyed a rapid, efficient and reproducible protocol for in vitro shoot regeneration and rooting by different explants and different concentration of BAP. Due to optimization of shoot regeneration, two media including of MS and modified MS (MS salts with double concentration of CaC21, and B5 vitamins), different explants such as decapitated embryo axes, epicotyls and cotyledonary no...

Indirect in vitro regeneration of lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.)

Establishment of an efficient and reproducible regeneration protocol is one of the basic prerequisites for genetic transformation of any crop plant. In vitro culture of lentil has proven to be difficult. In spite of a number of reports on the regeneration of this plant, very few satisfying and reproducible protocol has yet been reported. This study carried out for investigation of diff...

Pre-breeding of lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) for herbicide resistance through seed mutagenesis

Lentil is a poor competitor of weeds and its sensitivity to herbicides is a major hurdle for large scale production. The present study was conducted to select herbicide resistant lentil genotypes through seed mutagenesis. Seeds of three advanced lentil genotypes (LPP 11001, LPP 11100 and LPP 11116) were treated with two different concentrations of ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS; 0.1 and 0.2%), hyd...

Bioaccumulation and Transport of Arsenic in Different Genotypes of Lentil (lens Culinaris Medik.)

Eight genotypes of lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) were tested for bioaccumulation and transport of arsenic (As) in a pot experiment under controlled growth condition. Along with control (no As was added), plants were grown for 60 d in pot soil spiked with 100 mg As kg, added as Sodium arsenate. Significant (P < 0.05) variations among eight genotypes were observed in bioaccumulation and transpor...

Estimation of Genetic Diversity in Six Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) Varieties using Morphological and Biochemical markers

Morphological characters and Electrophoretic SDS-PAGE analysis were performed to established genetic diversity for six important lentil varieties of Bangladesh and to elucidate their genetic relationships. Analyses of variance of morphological characters showed significant differences among varieties. The resulted protein banding pattern showed 57.12% polymorphism and could be considered as gen...
